Zeiss phoku mikro 373 photographic eyepiece seidentopfZEISS PHOKO Photographic Eyepiece after SiedentopfThe ‘PHoku' Photographic Eyepiece serves for obtaining, during observation, photo-micrographs on 6><¢1'/3 cm. plates. It is available, not only for photo- graphing sections and permanent preparations, but is also excellently adapted for recording living objects in‘ motion. The ‘P/zolm' Eyepiece screws to the outer tube of the larger microscope stands by Zeiss and by Winkel after unscrewing the sliding sleeve of the draw- tube. All that is necessary is to maintain a distance of 115 mm. (the distance A-B indicated on the figure on the front page) between the screw shoulder of the objective and that of the ‘Plzoka' attachment, i. e. the length of the outer tube including the changing device or the objective collar. For this reason the tube requires an extension collar of 16 mm. in the case of Stands V and the older makes of Stand A (up to No. 143202), and a collar 3 mm. deep in the case of Stands I. The Stands III, B and Stands A with numbers higher than 143 202 do not require an intermediate collar. The Stands of new design D, E, F and G require intermediate collars of various sizes. Hence. when ordering a ‘Phoku' attachment. the factory number of the Stand with which it is to be used should be stated in order that the appropriate sleeve may be supplied with it. The ‘Phoku' attachment cannot be used on the smallest stands nor on the petrological stands with non-removable eyepiece sleeves. An intermediate collar is provided for use with stands of other makers, but it is advisable. when ordering in these cases. to send the outer tube of the microscope together with the changing device for the. exact adaptation of the collar.
